McCracken Roofing & Exteriors wasn’t started because I thought the world needed another roofing company. It started because I believed homeowners deserved a different kind of experience. Over the years, I've learned that most homeowners aren’t looking to become experts in exterior construction, and they shouldn’t have to. When something goes wrong with their home, they want someone they can trust to look at the situation, explain what they see, give them honest options, and help them make the right decision. That’s the kind of company I wanted to build.

My name is Rodney McCracken, and I founded McCracken Roofing & Exteriors around a simple belief: taking care of someone’s home starts with taking care of the person who owns it. A roof isn’t just shingles. Siding isn’t just something attached to the side of a house. These systems protect the place where families live, raise their children, celebrate milestones, and build their lives. For most people, their home is also one of the largest investments they’ll ever make. I don’t take being trusted with that lightly.

I saw an opportunity to build something that reflected the way I believe business should be done. I wanted homeowners to have someone who would actually listen before trying to sell them something. Someone willing to inspect the problem, figure out why the problem exists, understand what they’re trying to accomplish, and offer a solution that makes sense. Someone who communicates clearly, sets realistic expectations, and is willing to have an honest conversation, even when the answer isn’t necessarily the one that creates the biggest sale. Sometimes a homeowner needs a replacement, sometimes they need a repair, sometimes they need a plan for what needs attention now and what can wait, and sometimes they simply need somebody knowledgeable enough to tell them, “You’re okay.” “ You don’t need to spend that money right now.” I believe homeowners remember that, and that’s where relationships are built.

What I Bring to the Table

There will always be companies with bigger advertising budgets, larger fleets of trucks, and more signs around town, that’s not what I want McCracken Roofing & Exteriors to compete on. I want to compete on trust, knowledge, communication, problem-solving, and the way people are treated. I’m naturally a problem solver, when I look at an exterior project, I’m not interested in simply checking a box and moving on to the next job. I want to understand the problem, determine the right solution, communicate that solution clearly, and make sure the homeowner understands what they’re paying for and why, because I believe expectations matter. Construction can be messy, unexpected conditions can be uncovered, weather changes, materials, existing construction, and circumstances can create challenges that nobody sees from the driveway. A professional doesn’t pretend those realities don’t exist, a professional communicates. That’s the standard I’m building this company around, from the first conversation through the final cleanup.

I’m not asking homeowners to choose McCracken Roofing & Exteriors simply because of locality or because of a name on the truck. I want this company to represent the values I try to bring into my own life: faith, family, responsibility, hard work, consistency, and treating people the right way. It’s how you communicate, how you respond, and what you do when your name and reputation are on the line. That’s why I’m building McCracken Roofing & Exteriors for the long term.
